World Lightweight Championship on November 10, 1913, between Champ Willie Ritchie and challenger Leach Cross, a Jewish boxer known as "The Fighting Dentist." The real name of Cross was Louis Wallach, and he became a practicing dentist while concurrently boxing, using his fighting name to keep his boxing activities a secret, for a little while, from his father. One time, boxer Leach Cross loosened the teeth of an opponent' and later, operating as Doctor Louis Wallach, he repaired the same teeth. Cross lost this fight and never became a champion, but he was a well-respected pugilist. Police Gazette supplements replaced original poster images.
