Great award in the form of a telephone with solid oak base and bronze colored receiver. Johnny Neun was in baseball from 1920 through 1989, serving as a player, coach, manager, instructor, and scout. He was a friend of Ty Cobb from his days of playing first base with the Detroit Tigers. EX condition, the plastic on the cord has some cracking, but the rest is beautiful. The award dates from 1969 when the popular Neun left the Yankees organization after 25 years with the club, not all consecutive, in various capacities. Neun was a great storyteller and in demand as a speaker. As a scout, he is credited with playing a large part in the 1950 scouting report on the Philadelphia Phillies that helped the Yankees sweep the World Series. Came from the personal collection of Johnny Neun.
