Charlie Conerly signed check for $56.51 to the Cidale Country Club. Conerly was a great New York Giants quarterback and was fortunate to play in New York City during the 1950s "Madmen" era of advertising. His fame led the rugged looking Conerly to be "discovered" by Madison Avenue, and Conerly was for a time the "Marlboro Man," posing on horseback for Marlboro cigarettes.
