Addendum:   We were recently informed by non sports card expert Bobby Tutalo that this is the extremely rare Superman “bubble gum” variation. Hence its origins from the Topps Vault.

 
One of the premiere pieces in the Topps Vault, this proof was so special it was decoratively framed and certified. Printed on heavy box cardboard, this colorful box proof shows just how much work goes into designing such an attractive display/advertising piece. Bright red and yellow, this piece has all of the lay out, cutting and folding marks present and even features some of the Topps creators hand written notes. Best of all it shows the full waist figure of the Man of Steel, which is quite dramatic. Normally a third of him is tucked inside the box lid making the box itself far less powerful. 20 x 30" framed with a Topps Vault plaque on the bottom, this piece displays very well and only has a few creases and tape noticeable. A truly important relic of one of the classic card sets.
