Rare Joe DiMaggio All-Star ticket. Before the advent of large salaries, Major Leaguers would often barnstorm after the season, picking up extra income. Joe DiMaggio had returned to Major League play in 1946 after his three years in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was shaking off the rust as he hit .290 with 25 homers. The Yankees only finished in third place that year, so DiMaggio didn't receive his usual World Series largess. It couldn't have hurt to barnstorm in October. This ticket states, " Baseball Sunday Afternoon October Sixth, at Kingston Stadium - Joe DiMaggio All-Stars vs. Hudson Valley All-Stars". The ticket, including tax, went for only $1.25.
