The first few seasons in most franchises' history are used filled with hard times. The 1972 Rangers had a book written about them called "The Team That Couldn't Hit." What's so ironic about this is that Ted Williams was the club's manager. The 1973-75 Rangers also had a book written about there exploits entitled "Seasons In Hell."
Twenty-five crisp, dark ink signatures appear on this Texas Rangers inaugural season sphere, including Ted Williams (sweet spot, last year as a manager), Nellie Fox, Frank Howard, Tom Grieve, Don Mincher, and Dave Nelson. Also bears the inscriptions "'72 Rangers" and "35." It exhibits even toning and a very light coat of shellac. An extremely strong exemplar, and the first we have ever offered.
