Reminicent of Arshile Gorky and Lee Krasner, this piece was done during the 1956 Summer Olympics which took place in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. In this beautiful example of abstract expressionism we witness the benefit of Shatin's experiment with colors and form. Her style sets her apart. There is such life, movement and color in her brush work. Shatin had her first featured solo show at Athenaeum Gallery in April, 1955, and has a work in the permanent collection at Hamilton Gallery in Hamilton, Victoria.
