Great pair of framed B&W photos of Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio, HOF superstars of the rival Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees. One night, Yankee General Manager Larry McPhail and Boston Red Sox owner Tom Yawkey were drinking together, and they decided to trade the left-handed hitting Ted Williams, who could then on-load on Yankee Stadium's short right-field porch, in exchange for the right-handed hitting DiMaggio, who would then escape the long left-field wall at Yankee Stadium and benefit from Fenway Park's short left-field and the Green Monster. In the morning, sober reflection resulted in the trade being called off. 1) Photo of Ted Williams holding his bat outside the dugout (333/500). Signed in blue marker. Framed 21.5x26". 2) DiMaggio Rounding 1st Signed photo (26/100). Framed 22x26.5".
