Impressive commemorative belt honoring James Shuler. Belt centerpiece states, "North American Boxing Federation Champion." Beneath the belt is an engraved gold colored piece that states, "James Shuler 1956-1986 God Bless." In one gold colored wing of belt is engraved, "WON TITLE Oct. 23, 1982 McAfee, N.J." and on the other gold colored wing is engraved, "DEFEATED Sugar Ray Seales 12 RDS." Shuler went the distance against Seales, and won the WBC and NABF Middleweight Title by a unanimous decision. Shuler died 1986 in a motorcycle accident, only a week after losing his WBC and NABF titles to Tommy Hearns, via a first round knock-out (his only loss). Plaque/framing done post 1986. Belt is missing two stones, measures 17x27".
