Great fight poster promoting "The Last Hurrah" Heavyweight Championship fight on Oct. 2, 1980 between Holmes and Ali. The 24x36" poster features, as the main image, a striking multi-colored, impressionistic work by famed artist Leroy Neiman that shows Ali, in fierce fighting action, above the equally fierce, and upper-cutting, Holmes. Neiman's art, with its bright spectrum of colors, especially memorable. Poster shows this Caesar's Palace bout was presented by Don King and fought in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sadly, this fight really was a last hurrah for Ali. He had been examined pre-fight by the Mayo Clinic, and despite receiving a medical report that disclosed a slurring of his speech and tremors in his body, Ali was cleared to fight. All three judges gave Holmes every round, and Holmes won by TKO in 10 rounds . After his sound beating in this bout, Ali fought only once more in his career, losing to Trevor Berbick in a unanimous decision in 1981. Poster is in excellent condition, and the vibrant art and historical significance make this a fine item.
