"Our Heroes, Ambassadors of Good Will." Color photos of Louis boxing and Owens running, flanking and under a small image of Abraham Lincoln, with American flags at each side. African-American hero Owens showed up Hitler (and his doctrine of Aryan superiority) at the '36 Olympics in Germany by winning four Gold Medals. Louis won the Heavyweight title in 1937 over James J. Braddock, and then embarrassed Hitler by defeating German Max Schmeling, who was hyped by Nazi propagandists to retain the Heavyweight Championship in 1938. Eerie athletic foreshadowing of looming World War II. Has some paper loss and a tear. Rare. 11x14".
