Emil Fuchs who bought Ruth from Ruppert as a last ditch effort to revive the dying club promised Ruth a managerial position in 1936 but as it turned out, that was just lip service. Fuchs retired and by the date of of this letter, December 28th, his name was crossed off the letterhead as is "George Herman Ruth" listed as Assistant Manager.
