Beloved glove was made in the year 2000 by Rawlings for the personal use of Yankee legend Derek Jeter. Originally the glove was in Jeter's possession with plans to use it. However, a copyright issue was raised by Wilson Sporting Goods who had a trademark on the dual welt pattern on the back of the fingers. And thus, Derek Jeter was prohibited from using it and Rawling was barred from producing it. For identity purposes it has "Derek Jeter" embroidered on the thumb and sports a faint but visible Derek Jeter signature on the inside finger.
Most importantly, this is NOT a glove that was issued for commercial purposes, it was made for use by Derek Jeter and he alone.
