Addendum: The jersey was originally a 1988 Steelers blank jersey that was numbered and lettered up for Foster when he joined the team for the 1990 season. "Carry-over" jerseys is a common practice for many teams of the time.
A two-time Pro Bowl selection and First Team All-Pro, Barry Foster played five seasons in the Steel City.
Home black jersey is comprised of a micro-mesh body with nylon-durene shoulders and sleeves that feature gold/white trim. “29” is sewn on the front/back/shoulders in white tackle twill, while “Foster” is sewn on a verso nameplate in gold tackle twill. Tagging in the tail includes a “Sand-Knit” exclusive tag, “Sand-Knit 46” size tag, and “88” year swatch.
Exhibits very nice game wear, with at least TWENTY TEAM REPAIRS and numerous hit marks. Comes with letter of provenance from the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Jersey comes directly from the Steelers archive and come with an LOA from the Steelers. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Steelers Archives items will be donated to the Chuck Noll Foundation for Brain Injury Research.
