Wonderfully rare collecting treasure with unique historical relevance from the 2003 All-Star game at Chicago White Sox Cellular Field. This July 15th. game was played on the 70th. anniversary of Major League Baseball's inaugural All-Star game, at Chicago's Comisky Park, in 1933. The previous All-Star Game had ended in a 7-7 tie, so this game was advertised by the slogan "This One Counts". The slogan referenced the FIRST-EVER instance that an All-Star game was used to determine home field advantage for the year's World Series. The American League won the game 7-6, thus ensuring home field advantage for the American league Pennant winner: the Yankees. The plate is in great condition with evidence of game use around edges of the white. Center of plate has large multi-colored logo modeled on the famed White Sox exploding scoreboard and marked "All Star Game". Also shows MLB logo. Autographs on the plate are: La Russa, Pujois, Smotlz, G. Carter, Baker, L.Gonzalez, K. Wood, W. Williams, Edmonds, Pole, Kim, Wolf, A. Boone, M.Prior, A.Jones, Sheffield, Wagner, Willis, G. Matthews, R. White, G. Jenkins, S. Jackson, Gagne, Clines, M. Williams, Lo Duca, McClendon, Schmidt, Rolen, Ortiz, Lowell, Vidro, Lopez, Giles, Chacon, and two others. Extra special piece from Gabe Morell, former Chicago White visiting clubhouse manager. Each of the signatures are carefully and painstakingly hand drawn with care and uniquely perfect legibility rather than the typical, modern rushed scrawl. Giant marquee ballplayer is bestowing each signature as a gift, a gesture. Not to have to fulfill an obligation, but a thank you for services well earned.
