Wonderful image of the fans filing into Bennett Park for the 1907 World Series between the Detroit Tigers and the Chicago Cubs. Bennett Park named after Charlie Bennett was home to the Detroit Tigers. This early ballpark was small but did enjoy some success. The Tigers and Ty Cobb won three consecutive pennants during 1907-09 however their success ran out in the post season each time. Chicago on the other hand had wonderful times there winning both of their first two World Series Championships. The 4.5 x 6.5" photo is crystal clear and when magnified you can see "BASEBALL TO-DAY DETROIT vs. CHICAGO GAME CALLED at 3:30" on the sign above the entrance. EX appearance on the front (repaired tear upper left corner) with some scrapbook remnants on the back.
