Walt Kiesling played thirteen years in the NFL as a tackle and guard for six different clubs (including the Duluth Eskimos, Pottsville Maroons, Chicago Cardinals, Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, and Pittsburgh Pirates) where he was a teammate of fellow Hall of Famers Johnny Blood, Ernie Nevers, and Bronco Nagurski. A three-time First Team All-Pro, he was an NFL champion in 1936 and was elected to the NFL 1920’s All-Decade Team.

Keisling also coached for a quarter of a century with four different teams, including the Steagles, Card-Pitt, Packers, and, most notably, the Steelers. The game worn jacket on offer here dates from his second tenure as the Steelers head coach in 1954-56.

Black wool jacket with black leather sleeves features a seven-button yellow snap front and gold trim adorning the ribbed collar, sleeve cuffs, and waist. There is a “Wilson” manufacturer’s label in the collar next to a “48” flap tag. The jacket shows nice wear but is still fine condition. It is accompanied by a hand-written and signed letter provenance from Chester Arthur “Swede” Johnson, who was a teammate of Kiesling on the Cardinals, Packers, and Steelers. Kiesling was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1966.
