Here is the rare Rawlings "Big Stick Award" that was awarded to Andy Messersmith in 1974. 18" tall, this award consists of three bats standing on a wooden home plate. The bats hold the plague on top that says "Rawlings Big Stick Award." The plaque on the bottom says "74 - Pro Player Of The Year - Andy Messersmith." As the Dodgers won the National League pennant in 1974, Messersmith won a league-leading 20 games with only 6 losses in 292 1/3 innings of work. He had a 2.59 ERA and 221 strikeouts (second in the league). He was the starting pitcher in the All-Star Game, second in Cy Young voting (behind Dodgers teammate Mike Marshall), and a Gold Glove recipient. Trophy has evidence of repairs with glue noticeable on the plaques, but is in EX overall condition.
