Typed on Vivien Leigh stationary and sent from the Majestic Theatre in New York, Leigh wrote and signed this letter to a fan back in response to a fan who had went to see her show Tovarich, which she had won a Tony award for best actress in a musical. Leigh writes that she had "never walked through a performance in my life". In hindsight, it could of been an affect of her illness that made her leave the production in early October 1963.
