On June 16, 1983, at Madison Square Garden in New York, World Junior Middleweight Champion Davey Moore defended his title against veteran former champion Roberto Duran. Duran dominated the fight and stopped Moore in the 8th round to win the title. On the undercard, Luis Resto stopped "Irish" Billy Collins in a controversial fight. It was later determined Resto's trainer "Panama" Lewis had removed padding from Resto's gloves and he inflicted a terrible beating on Collins. Resto was successfully prosecuted and both he and Lewis were banned from the sport. Offered here is a scarce original on site poster to this event.
