This is one of the coolest pieces of memorabilia out there. And they are getting TOUGH to find. Early 1960s Stellar brand character radio is most likely circa 1962, right after the home run race of the ages (no steroids). This is the old style tube radio (we would not have it any other way) devoted to the kings of NYC, Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris. A careful balance of wood, plastic, metal and cardboard, the many elements going into this is a testament to its quality. The key is that it still has the two original knobs, the green baseball diamond for on/off, and the figural bat and ball for tuning. This one is a high grade specimen that works perfectly and came from old store stock. At one point (many years ago), these radios were "gettable". Things have changed, and they have dried up and collectors are finally realizing how great these (and this radio) truly is. Working radios with original knobs have doubled and tripled in price over the last few years. Near Mint.
