A real license plate from the era, one we have not seen. Made of stamped steel and measuring 6x12", the plate's raised silver lettering reads, "56 WORLD CHAMPS FOOTBALL NEW YORK GIANTS", and the plate's background is in Giants' blue. There is a small rust chip not affecting any of the lettering, and the plate is remarkably well-preserved. The 1956 Championship Game was played at Yankee Stadium, featured the Giants against the Chicago Bears, and the Giants' spectacular slaughter of the Bears, 47-7. Ken MacAfee started for The Giants at offensive right end. The game was filled with legendary players and coaches. Hall of Famers Frank Gifford, Alex Webster, Sam Huff, Roosevelt Brown, and Andy Robustelli played for the Giants. The Bears '56 team had Hall of Famers George Blanda, Bill George, Stan Jones, and Doug Atkins. NFL coaching legends, Hall of Famers Vince Lombardi and Tom Landry, were the Giants' assistant coaches under Jim Lee Howell.
