A perfect pair of Isles gamers circa 1986. Bryan Trottier wore this road blue CCM Ultrafil knit sometime late in the 1985-86 season or postseason according to the born-on tag in the collar (86 04). Tagged in the neck by Maska with “19 A” in thick black marker. This uniform displays above-average wear with dozens of stick slashes on the body and sleeves. The inside elbows show areas of pilling and there are salt deposits in the fight strap. Rear hem is embroidered with the logos of CCM and Syosset Sports and the alternate’s “A” is stitched onto the upper breast. Here’s where it gets interesting. The nameplate has been removed and then reattached by the team with a rectangular frame of Velcro. It appears that the shirts from this set were reused for (at least) the 1986-87 preseason. Rounding out the lot is Ken Morrow’s matching home white Islanders jersey, with identical born-on collar tagging (with “6” in marker) and the Velcro nameplate. The Morrow shirt, again, shows good wear and has the ghostly outline where a “C” once sat on the left breast. Two shirts for the price of one!
