Great 1883 Philadelphia Athletics cabinet photograph with beautiful contrast and graded SGC A.  This cabinet photo captures the 1883 American Association Champion Philadelphia Athletics in a classic team pose.  Among the thirteen team members pictured here are star pitcher Bobby Mathews, Harry Stovey, Cub Stricker, and George Bradley, who is best known today for throwing the first no-hitter in National League history.  1883 represents the only year in which the Athletics captured the American Association pennant during the league’s ten-year existence (1882-1891).
