John L. Sullivan, recognized as the last bare-knuckle and first gloved champion, straddled two eras of boxing history. This beautiful, wood carved likeness of the Boston Strong Boy is pioneer artisan with original paint. It is clearly John L., considering the heavy mustache, bare chest, and even a championship belt. This is believed to be a trade sign, and measures 20" tall. Sullivan's feet are missing and he is depicted with bare knuckles. Great age.
