The year was a memorable one for the Swede and the Islanders as they won their first of four consecutive Stanley Cups led by Persson's stellar postseason play. On the back of five goals (more than he had scored in the entire regular season) and 10 assists, Persson nearly became the first Swedish player to win the Conn Smythe Trophy for playoff MVP, which was captured by his teammate Bryan Trottier. The jersey has a 1980 Lake Placid Olympic patch on its left sleeve, as well as Goodman & Sons size 50 and Bill Vanderbug Company tags in neck.
