The most famous lady baseballer of the day appears on what are in fact two posters in one. Star of these Bloomer Girls, Maud Nelson, appears in this large vintage art poster with additional, "Western Bloomer Girl Baseball Club" bill affixed right to it. Massive tour tour-de-force of poster art in green, measures an impressive 42x80" and announces the appearance of Nelson and her Bloomer Girls in a scheduled match Vs. C. A. C. for Friday June 9 which is indeed 1911 on the perpetual calendar. Touting Nelson as "Champion Lady Pitcher of the World," and presenting the Bloomer Girls as a "A Strictly Respectable Organization...Pure, Clean Exhibition of our National Game" this poster encourages you to "Bring the Ladies & Children- Seats For All." Unlike most Western Bloomers advertisements, this massive representation features Maud in a larger than life billboard fashion. Large, bright colors with an impressively detailed image of Maud dwarf the 22x28" Western Bloomer Girl advertisement present on the poster, which displays very nicely and is preserved on linen w/some restoration. An incredible poster, from an important time in history, and unlike most we have seen.
