Graded by PSA VG 3. Attention Babe Ruth collectors! Offered is arguably Babe Ruth's rarest baseball card, the No. 1 card of the 1955 Topps Hocus Focus set. Measuring 7/8x1-3/8" this set of 23 cards is so rare, it was only within the last five years or so where the complete 23 card checklist was even finalized. Similar to the 1948 Magic Photos series, the 1955 Hocus Focus set was "self-developing," issued with blank fronts which could be developed into sepia-tone photos when the cards were exposed to sunlight. As is often the case with these cards, sometimes the technology of the day (or the child "attendant") did not equalize with the idea, and many cards did not develop properly. However, this example is solid in that aspect, with a clear image of Ruth present. Graded at VG 3 this card contains light corner wear and a very tiny wrinkle. These cards are so rare, only 11 cards total of this issue have been graded by PSA, with this offered piece the sole Babe Ruth example. This may be your first (and last) opportunity to acquire what is Babe Ruth's most elusive card.
