From the original French release of this Toho classic. Poster is a French affiche (23.5x31.5" but framed to larger and on linen. From this important cinematic triumph that is more than meets the eye. The 1954 original not only defined the genre but was subtly politically charged for its interpretation of the U.S. bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Directly after the United States reverted its control of Japan back to its own people, it was a "monster" success. Apparently, those undertones shone through as bright as Godzilla bashing through the sizzling electrical towers of Tokyo. Minor fading just to the reds, but the greens are as bright as his scaly reptilian skin.
