These great images capture a historic mark in USA hockey history. While they have won some notable Olympic gold medals, the 1933 championship stands as the only one won by the United States at the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Championship. In an era of Canadian dominance, Hall of Famer Walter Brown managed the Boston Olympics and the team was to go on four-month tour of Europe culminating with playing in 1933 in Prague. They weren't able to call the team the Boston Olympics as there were two New Yorkers on the squad, so they made them change their name to the Rangers. The US ended up winning the title, also marking the first time they had ever beaten Canada. Cities played in are noted on back of the photos, including: Germany (where they met Hitler), France, Switzerland, and Prague where they played the World Championship. Included are signed Massachusetts Rangers photos of Dog (Frank Holland), Stewart (Inglehart), Gerry Cosby, plus 1932 Boston Olympics team photo featuring Sherman Forbes, Frank Holland, Gerry Cosby, Fuzzy Thurston, and Red Mahoney.
