Jon Kolb was a key member on the Steelers offensive line for more than a decade and won four Super Bowls with the team during the 1970's. Later in his career, Kolb put his celebrated strength to the test by competing in early editions of the World's Strongest Man event, placing fourth in both 1978 and 1979 despite being relatively undersized. This white, road jersey was game worn by Kolb during the 1977 season, when the Steelers went 9-5 in the regular season, but were bounced from the playoffs in the Divisional Round by the Broncos. A "77" tag denoting the year can be found on the tail along with a Sand-Knit size 50 tag. The jersey shows heavy use with abrasions, loose threads, and an astonishing 47 team repairs. The shoulders have been sewn in, and there is evidence of previous numbers on the jersey, though they appear to be the same numbers. All jerseys come directly from the Steelers archive and come with an LOA from the Steelers. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Steelers Archives items will be donated to the Chuck Noll Foundation for Brain Injury Research.
