A bat signed by Jimmie Foxx is incredibly rare (we can only remember encountering two in 40 years), one signed multiple times by Foxx is unheard of, but that is exactly what we're offering here. This bat comes from the collection of Harry Evans, an early collector of memorabilia and autographs. One of Evans' specialties was to letter bats and baseballs in great detail and then have the players sign them, which they usually did eagerly as he was well known among past and then present ballplayers, and this bat is no exception. The handle of the bat reads "HOME RUN LEADERS" book-ended by the years "1931" and "1940." On the barrel, all years between '31 and '40 appear accompanied by the most number of home runs hit by a single player that year. Foxx's signature appears four times underneath the years in which he led the Majors in home runs, including 1932 with 58, 1933 with 48, 1935 with 36 and 1939 with 35. Foxx became the second player ever to reach the 500 home run plateau after Babe Ruth, and was the youngest player ever to accomplish the feat until Alex Rodriguez in 2007. He was a three-time MVP Award winner and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1951. This Hillerich & Bradsby bat is a blank-barreled 125 from the 1950s. A few of the applied numbers and letters have come off with age, but the bat is EX-MT. One signature is 8/10, another is 7/10, and the two others are smudged and grade 3/10 and 4/10. Comes with PSA LOA.
