Cashing in on his growing celebrity in the 1950s, Willie Mays gave permission to Feature Television Productions to create a comic book about his life and career during the middle of the decade. This offering contains the signed contract between Mays and Feature Television Productions, which is dated July 25, 1954, as well as the resulting comic book, entitled "The Amazing Willie Mays." It just so happened that Mays more than lived up to the billing in 1954. At the time the contract was signed he had already hit his 34th home run of the season, and he would go on to lead the league in batting (.354) and win both the NL MVP Award and World Series that year. The contract is signed by Mays in 9/10 blue ink, as well as a representative from Feature Television Productions. It is tri-folded with two holes at the top and minor tears on the right edge. The comic book is in EX condition. Includes PSA LOA.
