Concerning America's favorite pastime was played at one of America's oldest and proudest institutions, these season tickets and scorecard are the perfect marriage of American history. The scorecard dates to circa 1877 and has been dutifully filled in for a game played between Harvard and Amherst, which the Crimson won 14-3. The pre-printed lineups included Fred Thayer and Jim Tyng on the Harvard side, whose names are important to baseball history because Thayer created the first catcher's mask in 1877 and Tyng was the first to wear it. The card measures 5.25x8.75" and is in EX condition, with only some light glue residue on the back detracting from it. Accompanying the scorecard are two season tickets presented in 1876 and 1877 to H. W. Cushing, who was a member of the Harvard football club at the time. A bonus 19th century Harvard baseball ticket is also included in the set, and despite a crease is in VG condition.
