Lydell Mitchell enjoyed a fruitful career in the NFL as one of the best running backs of the 1970s. Taken in the second round of the 1972 draft by the Baltimore Colts, Mitchell led the Colts to three straight AFC East crowns and was named to the Pro Bowl in each of his last three seasons with the team. In addition to his pro success, Mitchell was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2004. This game-worn jersey of Mitchell's comes from the mid-70s, when he and the Colts really started to hit their stride. The blue jersey has "26" screened on in white on the front, back, and both shoulders. "L. MITCHELL" is sewn on a name plate on the back. A manufacturer's tag on the front tail is present but the print has completely washed out. The jersey has seen very nice use with four team repairs and lots of scuffs on the shoulders.
