The three pucks offered here chart the progress of Ivan Boldirev's hockey career. Considered one of the best stick handlers of his generation, it wasn't a smooth ascent to hockey greatness for Boldirev. The Serbian-Canadian player languished in the minor league system of a stacked Boston Bruins organization before receiving his big break when he was traded to the California Golden Seals in 1971. Boldirev notched his first career NHL goal on November 18 of that year, and that puck is proudly among the collection here, along with an ornamental base. The set also includes his first goal with the Soo Greyhounds, a famed junior squad from Sault Ste. Marie, as well as his first hat trick with the Greyhounds. Includes PSA LOA for Boldirev signature on LOA.
