Straight from the original House that Ruth Built in 1923 comes this fantastic Yankee Stadium spectator seat. Decked out in its original blue paint, the seat number of #8 was a foreshadowing of superstar catcher Yogi Berra, who called the Bronx building home from 1946-63. The chair measures roughly 28" wide and 32" tall on its handmade wood base from the time. The seat - which came with the ticket box also available in this auction - retains the original shipping label from when it was sent to Charlotte, NC, On December 3, 1973, right when the stadium was first closed for its two-year renovation. This chair was obtained by a diehard, Charlotte-based Yankee fan who purchased it during the famed stadium "Garage sale."
