A bit of a mystery surrounds this 1970s Fort Worth Texans game worn #18 hockey jersey. From 1973-78, the team served as an affiliate of the New York Islanders and this white jersey with Texans crest is consistent with the Isles' design of the period. It shows heavy use with visible slash marks, some holes in the sleeves, and loose stitching. The reverse contains the original numbers (18), the front bears evidence that there was a previous crest and there's definitely a visible "C" outline on the left breast from where there was once a Captain patch. Those features would also apply to Ed Westfall, who was New York's captain starting in their inaugural 1972-73 season, and this jersey may well have been "sent to the minors." Rawlings size 50 tag is in the neck, fight strap remains intact.
