Robert Fitzsimmons was born on May 26, 1863, in Helston, Cornwall, England. He won the World Middleweight Title on January 14, 1891, from Jack Dempsey. On March 17, 1897, he won the World Heavyweight Title from James Corbett. He later won the World Light Heavyweight Title on November 25, 1903, from George Gardner and he retired after fighting Jersey Bellew on February 20, 1914, with a final record of 43-12 with six no decisions, one no contest, and 32 KOs.
