James J. Corbett was born on September 1, 1866, in San Francisco, California. He won the World Heavyweight Title from John L. Sullivan on September 7, 1892. He fought significant fights with Peter Jackson, Charley Mitchell and Robert Fitzsimmons, and he retired after losing to Jim Jeffries on August 14, 1903, with a final record of 11-4-2 with two no contests and seven KOs. Offered here is a framed signed ticket display of James J. Corbett. This display includes a full, unused ticket for the fight between Corbett and Sullivan, a bold ink signature of Corbett, two cabinet cards of Corbett in period dress, a beautiful Stacy Studios first generation photograph of Corbett in period dress, and a large, first generation photograph of Corbett which he signed at the time of his victory over Sullivan, "Champion of the world Jas J Corbett Sept/1892." This is a beautiful, professionally framed display of James J. Corbett. The ticket names the fighters and is numbered. This is the smaller version ticket with no creasing and only minor corner wear. Both cabinet cards are by Morrison of Chicago picturing Corbett in period dress. One has a minor spot otherwise fine. The ink signature, "Your friend Jas J Corbett, is clean and 4.5" long. The Stacy photograph is first generation with no creases or tears and bold image. 6.5x 9.5". The signed 1892 photograph depicts Corbett in fight pose and is boldly signed in fountain pen. Not creased or torn with clear bold image. 6.5x10", framed to 27x31." The nicest Corbett display we have offered. Comes with PSA LOA.
