In 1955, the Athletics moved from Philadelphia to Kansas City, local company Rodeo Meats celebrated the arrival of the newly founded Kansas City Athletics with a promotion of trading cards showcasing members of the team. This collection of 11 cards is in the usual condition for these 1950s food issues, including creasing and staining from the food products with which the cards were packaged. The extremely limited distribution and placement into hot dog packages has made these cards very difficult to obtain in any condition, and multiple card lots such as this are not often sold at public auction.
