A somber piece, this is the registration document for the plane that crashed with John F. Kennedy Jr. and wife aboard in 1999. The form is US Registration number: N9253N, Piper Aircraft, registered to a corporation and with printed signature of the owner on January 5th, 1996. Across the document reads "Operations Outside of the United States are Prohibited by Law." Comes with briefcase from the original purchase and was on board for many of the airplane’s first flights, from early 1996-1997. Registration was aboard until permanent registration arrived from the FAA in mid-1996. Nicely framed and matted to 8.5x12.5", it has a small tear on right. JFK Jr. was the pilot en route to his cousin's wedding when the plane crashed off Martha's Vineyard on July 16, 1999.
