The passing of Yankees catcher, and Captain, Thurman Munson remains one of the saddest days in baseball folklore. This ticket stub is from his last game, August 1, 1979, against the White Sox in Chicago. Encapsulated by PSA and graded EX-MT 6, it is torn perfectly along the perforations. With the wear of catching taking its toll, Munson actually started that 11-1 Yankees game at first base and was replaced as his Bombers grabbed an early lead. The following day, he perished after crashing his Cessna airplane in Ohio.
