Five baseball curiosities comprise this lot, including an offensive 1940s baseball with artist-signed racist pencil cartoon of a bespectacled black ballplayer with cartoon balloon reading: "Yas Suh!" The Official National League (Frick) baseball is housed in its original box. Also included here are an early 1900s Frankel Light Company original box with baseball player litho that housed a mantle for gas lanterns; Official American League (E.S. Barnard) Mint ball from 1925 with patent; Goldsmith Johnny Vander Meer Baseball Glove original box (empty); and Cal Crim Detective Bureau letter from 1926 to American League President Ban Johnson detailing an investigation into someone named Clay Folger. Major Leaguers Tris Speaker and Ty Cobb are specifically named in the three-page letter though not incriminated.
