Regarded by many as being the greatest fight of all time, this was arguably the most brutal heavyweight bout ever. Called "The Thrilla In Manila," the famous fight took place on October 1, 1975. Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier indulged in a masterpiece which was brutal artistry at its most visceral as the two, slower fighters whose styles seemed made for each other, exchanged a blizzard of over a thousand punches in heat which left even onlookers and ringside experts exhausted. Both, beyond exhaustiona after 40 minutes of unremitting violence, said it was the closest he had ever felt to death. This is a rare image that shows Ali close to death during the fight. Negative/transparency is 35mm and full color in NRMT condition. The original negatives and images in this collection are by the personal photographer of Ali's manager Herbert Muhammad. Unpublished, they have not seen the light of day for five decades. Recently discovered, they come with the photographer’s rights. All of the negs/transparencies are unique, “Type I” images that can be used to make prints and products of the finest quality and huge scale.
