One-of-a-kind, this 8x10" contact sheet is a Type I photo created by the photographer himself and stamped as such on the verso, a multi-image of the fight that should never have taken place and the post-fight press conference. Same as the first fight, Muhammad Ali destroyed former champion Floyd Patters. In the first one, the legend is that Muhammad taunted, punished and ultimately destroyed the disrespecting Patterson for refusing to call him by his rightful name of “Muhammad Ali” instead condescendingly referring to him as “Clay,” but in fact Muhammad actually had great respect for the groundbreaking former champion and compassionately tried to end it.
Contact sheets are a hot collectible category unto themselves as they're used by photographers to choose the best images for reproduction.
