This magnificent 2.25" medium format full color negative of Muhammad Ali is what is considered a "glamour" pose. It is an amazing early studio portrait, similar to those executed in the golden age of Hollywood. You can see the Photographer's backdrop and the contrast and resolution is perfection. This negative is the "best of the best" portrait of a young handsome bare-chested Muhammad Ali in boxing attire and in a fight stance. It is similar in execution to the sought-after glamorous studio portraits of Hollywood stars from the 1930s through the 1960s, in NM-MT condition.
The original negatives and images in this collection are by the personal photographer of Muhammad Ali's manager Herbert Muhammad. Unpublished, they have not seen the light of day for five decades. Recently discovered, they come with the photographer’s rights. All of the negs/transparencies are unique, “Type I” images that can be used to make prints and products of the finest quality and huge scale.
