During his days as a United States Senator from Massachusetts, John F. Kennedy parlayed his political stature and his love of baseball into a friendship with Red Sox standout Jimmy Piersall, who signed this Official American League (Cronin) ball for the man who would become President. From Piersall's July 17, 1962, White House visit, shown here is a photo from that day. Included is a small gold receptacle with marble base and felt bottom, that served as the perpetual holder for every baseball that had the honor of being displayed on the desk of America's soon to be 35th President. The blue ink signature has faded but the ball remains in EX condition, and included is a pair of letters from Kennedy's Presidential secretary, Evelyn Lincoln, certifying the provenance of each piece. The Evelyn Lincoln JFK material is legendary. Gifted to super collector Robert White, it is among the finest and most supremely authentic JFK pieces extant.
