Walt Disney has animated some of the most beloved children’s characters, and during World War II he was enlisted to help the war effort by designing a Mickey Mouse gas mask. Fearing a chemical attack from the Germans, the British government distributed gas masks to men, women, and children to use in bomb shelters during WWII. Since adult masks were too heavy and frightening for children to wear, Disney helped to create a mask for kids that looked like his popular cartoon character Mickey Mouse. Made of rubber, tin and plastic, this comes contained in the original cardboard box which measures 4.5x6x4.5x6", and the overall condition is VG-EX.
