From 1911-28, Steve O'Neill enjoyed a 17-year playing career in the majors, but this classic uniform comes from the only World Series title in his 14 years as a manager, with the 1945 Detroit Tigers. Not only did that Motown squad win the AL pennant with an 88-65 record, but they also broke the hearts of the Chicago Cubs with a seven-game Series triumph. This is an all-original road jersey and pants from that '45 season, with "Detroit" across the front in black felt and "32" on the back in the same black felt. It bears the original stars and stripes crest patch on the left sleeve, Lowe & Campbell tag in the collar with size 48 flag tag and additional "32" uniform number tag sewn in, plus "45" for the year stitched on front tail. The jersey rates 8.5/10 as far as condition, there are a few red stains, other dirt stains and only one small hole (above the second "t" on the front), with all original buttons and piping. The matching pants are gray with black piping, cut off at the bottoms, otherwise free of any alterations, with Lowe & Campbell tag in waist along with Wilson, "32" (uniform #) and size 44 flag tag.
